Support Worker - Carers Emergency Support

Kirklees - 4 positions

Fixed until 20 January 2020. May be extended.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Carers Emergency Support Workers to join a leading provider of support for carers across Kirklees. We offer a competitive salary and on-going training and support for personal and career progression.

We work with over 500 carers and the people they care for, supporting people of all ages and disabilities, providing carers with essential breaks from the stresses of caring. We provide the special quality of care that gives carers the peace of mind to let someone else step into their shoes.

The Carers Emergency Support Service provides short-term, community-based support to clients/carers living in Kirklees district. Our aim is to provide an intervention and prevention service which increases the support available to carers in an emergency. Ensuring support is timely, affective and outcome based. Leaving a carer able to maintain their role long term.

Our target group will be those carers who have reached crisis, are to unwell to maintain their caring role or need short term support to enable a discharge.

We are looking for committed individuals to join this team to provide short-term care for people with support needs in their own home when their family carer cannot provide support at short notice.

The successful Carers Emergency Support Workers must have the following:

Due to the nature of this position, the Prevention and Enablement Support Workers will be required to work on a rota basis; 4 days on, 4 days off: 0800 - 21:00 with a 1 hour unpaid break.

Roaming Care Support Worker

Kirklees & Wakefield

4 positions

Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire is a charity providing respite support to carers and the people they care for throughout Kirklees, Wakefield, Calderdale and South Leeds. Working in the community we support carers by providing a weekly break. We support people of all ages including children and adults and with a variety of needs from Physical Disabilities through to Palliative and End of Life Care.

A new opportunity has become available for Roaming Care Support Workers to support the organisation in covering client visits when regular staff are absent.

Working for a guaranteed 20 hours per week but with the flexibility to work up to full time as the organisation requires. Work will include some evening and weekend work.
