HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!…to our Emergency Support Service; which is celebrating its first birthday today! During the last twelve months, our Emergency Support Team has helped 115 carers in need, from carer breakdown, exhaustion, end of life support, hospital admissions and more.
The feedback from those whom have received the service has been heart-warming and reaffirming…
“I wish to pass on a thank you to your service, for the support the family, and I as a discipline, received during a recent experience of implementing the new service.
I also have had recent verbal feedback from another family about how valuable and reassuring the service had been at a time when the family were juggling various caring roles and work when their emergency happened.
The referral process was prompt, responsive and supportive and incredibly efficient.
The member of staff was friendly, helpful, caring and responsive to the differing needs of the carer, family member and the person living with Dementia, and myself.
For the family it was essential as we did not know the outcome of the carers situation but I was reassured knowing that I had left the family in good hands.
I can only reiterate what an essential service this is and so practical, allowing families time to adjust, assess and plan whilst reassured a service is supporting their loved ones at the time of their caring emergency.”

“Whatever would I have done without you?! It’s really good to know that when you are in dire straits that there are people there to help you, you’re incredible!”
– Mrs A (Carer)
“We are so grateful for the support of your team, as my sister and I had reached the end of our tether through lack of sleep, stress and juggling our work and families. Your help gave us peace of mind knowing Dad was cared for and in his own home, as the alternative would have been for him to go into respite, which he did not want to do!
When Mum, who was Dad’s primary carer, became sick, our life was turned upside down and we didn’t know what we were going to do. We were amazed that there was a service such as this that offers what it does. This support has quite honestly been a lifesaver.”
